Ventia is on the lookout for a dynamic and experiencedField Lead to join our Defence Base Services team in Darwin. If youre passionate about people performance and purpose-driven work this is your opportunity to make a real impact supporting Australias Defence infrastructure.
This role is based at Robertson Barracks where youll lead with confidence coordinate with precision and foster strong relationships across trades subcontractors and Defence stakeholders.
What youll be doing;
- Take charge of first-response coordination for Estate Upkeep outageskeeping assets operational and teams informed.
- Supervise and support subcontractors ensuring safety quality and compliance.
- Champion the Ventia Permit to Work System conducting audits and confirming operational processes.
- Collaborate on project quality control validating work scope and assessing value for money.
- Facilitate smooth site accessorganising inductions maps drawings and escorts.
- Build trusted relationships with Defence clients and customers becoming a key liaison on base.
- Keep systems updated with accurate timely information.
- Be ready to step in and support the Infrastructure Services Manager with additional tasks as needed.
What youll need;
- Trade or tertiary qualifications in one or more of: Electrical Hydraulic HVAC Mechanical orBuilding.
- Proven experience leading trade teams and managing estate upkeep services.
- Excellent communication skillswritten and verbalwith a collaborative mindset.
- A strong grasp of facilities maintenance and service delivery in complex environments (Defence experience is a plus!).
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and learning new digital systems.
- Familiarity with Permit to Work systems and high-risk work qualifications are highly desirable.
- A current Australian Drivers Licence.
- Australian Citizenship is essential to obtain Defence Security Clearance (NV1 level).
