Job Overview:Bartenders are responsible for serving guests in the bar by taking & serving food & beverage orders while ensuring to check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol. Reports to:Food & Beverage Management
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet guests take food and beverage orders prepare drink orders for the bar and restaurant
- Maintain stock supplies and cleanliness of outlet and equipment
- Have thorough working knowledge of Micros system -- ordering check presentation payment processing closing reports while reporting all tips
- Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations particularly those prohibiting service to minors intoxicated persons and drunk driving
- Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands beers and non-alcoholic selections glassware and garnishes in the restaurant and all menu items (including daily specials) prices preparation method/time major ingredients and quality standards of taste appearance texture serving temperature portion size garnish and method of presentation
- Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers room capacity hours of operation proper table set-up and dress code of the restaurant
- Obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies. Keep bank secure at all times
- Handle guest complaints and ensure guest satisfaction
- Maintains a clean and organized work environment at all times following all Safety and Health Department guidelines
Qualifications: - Must have flexible schedule including availability on days nights weekends and holidays
- Previous experience as a Bartender
- Desire to grow within the hospitality industry is preferred
- Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail speed accuracy follow-through courtesy cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision
- Ability to accurately compute and manipulate mathematical calculations
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers some of whom will require high levels of patience tact and diplomacy to defuse anger
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks at once
- Knowledge of fine wines beer and liquor
- Alcohol awareness certification (TIPS Training) is preferred
- Knowledge of P.O.S. system preferably Micros
- Food Handlers Certification ServSafe Certified is preferred
- Must be able to communicate professionally in English both written and verbal. Conversational abilities in other languages helpful
