We are hiring for our client a well-established underwriting agency who are seeking to appoint an experienced Underwriting Team Lead to manage and develop their Northern Ireland Commercial Team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a high-performing team drive underwriting standards and contribute to the continued growth of a respected and ambitious organisation.
This Underwriting Team Lead role is ideal for someone with strong technical expertise across commercial lines who also brings a natural ability to lead mentor and support a team in a fast-paced environment.

The Role:
Lead and manage the Commercial Underwriting Team for Northern Ireland supporting team performance and development
Provide technical guidance on underwriting queries and referrals across commercial products
Ensure underwriting activity is compliant consistent and within delegated authority
Monitor and manage workflow and performance KPIs
Support onboarding and ongoing training of team members
Collaborate with internal departments (claims accounts audit) and broker partners
Contribute to product development and continuous improvement of underwriting processes
Act as a senior point of contact for escalated broker queries and complaints
Ensure internal standards and regulatory compliance requirements are met
The Person:
Proven experience in commercial underwriting ideally within motor liability property or package policies
Prior team leadership or senior underwriting experience
Excellent technical knowledge and decision-making skills
Strong organisational and communication abilities
Customer-focused with experience supporting broker relationships
Comfortable managing performance mentoring others and setting team standards
Adaptable and solutions-oriented with a proactive mindset
