Job Title: Teachers Harvest Program Assistant Reports To: Chief Programing Officer Location: Second Harvest of South Georgia Valdosta About the Program Teachers Harvest is a program of Second Harvest of South Georgia that provides free school supplies to educators across a 26-county region. The program supports Teachers by reducing their out-of-pocket costs and ensuring students have the tools they need to succeed. Position Summary The Teachers Harvest Program Assistant will play a key role in supporting daily operations of the program. This position is responsible for maintaining inventory restocking products keeping the facility clean and organized and assisting Teachers during shopping days. The role also includes helping promote the program through product solicitation marketing efforts and participation in outreach events. Schedule - Part-Time: 25 hours per week
- Workdays: Tuesdays Thursdays and one (1) second Saturday per month
Key Responsibilities - Restock shelves and maintain product inventory.
- Ensure the Teachers Harvest facility is clean organized and welcoming.
- Provide excellent customer service to Teachers visiting the program.
- Lift move and organize products (up to 25 pounds).
- Assist with marketing efforts and outreach activities to increase awareness of the program.
- Help solicit donations of school supplies and products from local businesses and partners.
- Represent Teachers Harvest at community events and activities related to promoting the program.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds and perform physical tasks.
- Self-motivated dependable and detail oriented.
- Flexible and willing to work occasional Saturdays.
- Previous experience in customer service retail or nonprofit work preferred.
Work Environment This position works in a warehouse/store-like environment and requires standing bending lifting and assisting with product handling for extended periods.
