The opportunity

Southern New Hampshire Universitys Capital Projects team is seeking a student employee to assist with our project planning and management. This is a great way to gain experience in an educational setting by working with campus personnel and building relationships with staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the planning of the delivery of projects particularly with scope schedule and budget
  • Review drawings and specifications with RFIs and Submittals during the construction process
  • Attend construction project meetings and report on progress of projects including schedule updates
  • Actively participate in construction inspections to ensure our standard of quality and care
  • Prepare meeting minutes
  • Review contractor/vendor pay applications and invoices during the construction process
  • Participate in regularly scheduled coordination meetings with Capital Projects Facilities Management and Procurement
  • Space Planning:
  • Actively participate in space management activities such as analyzing and documenting existing available space
  • Track space requirement sheet request form and document end user requirements for the requested space needs
  • Coordinate with furniture vendor and stakeholders for draft cubicle/office/ furniture layout options for end user approval
  • Update space planning data sheet and plans with the approved modifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Enrollment in an Undergraduate or Graduate Day program at SNHU
  • Work Study as part of their financial aid package (if applicable)
  • Experience with Microsoft programs; experience with AutoCAD a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in SETA Construction Management program; 3rd or 4th year preferred; 2nd year upon approval

Learning Outcomes:

This is a great opportunity to gain professional experience and exposure to industry processes. Your ability to multi-task work independently while being guided by the Capital Projects team will be key.

Work Hours:

Mon-Friday between 8am and 4:30pm. Total number of hours per week not to exceed 20.

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills qualifications experience and internal equity in addition to relevant business considerations.
