Residential Support Worker

Salary:up to 29500 per annum (depending on experience)

Location:Chesterfield

Contract/Hours:Permanent/Full Time Waking Nights 10pm -7.30am.

A bit about the role

As a Residential Support Worker Waking nights youll be expected to offer emotional support practical advice and mentorship to young people helping them essential life skills and build their confidence.

A primary expectation is ensuring our young peoples safety and wellbeing by creating and maintain a secure and supportive involves following safeguarding procedures managing challenging behaviours and responding effectively to emergencies. Youll also be responsible for understanding and implementing individual care plans working closely with other professionals to ensure the young peoples needs are met. This includes adapting support strategies to accommodate varying levels of ability in providing personalised assistant to help each young person thrive.

Promoting independence is important youll support young people in developing their skills to the best of their abilities assisting them with tasks such as personal care household chores and participating in social and recreational activities. The level of support will vary depending on the individual needs focusing on fostering a sense of accomplishment and well-being.

Accurate time keeping is essential so youll be expected to document daily activities common incidents and progress as well as contribute to reports and reviews.

Yew Tree is an exciting new residential home that offers accommodation and support for children and young people up to 18 years of age with both physical and learning pride ourselves on creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every individual can thrive.

As a Residential Support Worker waking Nights you will play a vital role in helping our young people achieve their personal goals and develop their independence.

We are looking for qualified support workers to join our growing team however we are open to applications from candidates who are eager to work towards obtaining this qualification on our career pathway.

How youll help to create brighter futures

As residential support worker youll support by:

  • Provide lead case/care planning management including assessing reviewing and managing risk.
  • Co-ordinating responsibilities within the service with multi agency and producing family information including analysis and written reports.
  • Attendance at professional meetings including reviews court work etc.
  • Lead shifts with the primary aim of the provision of a high-quality service.
  • Supervise and guide staff as required in accordance with Action for Children policies and procedures.
  • Lead by example with the application of Action for Childrens policy procedures and professional practice standards and in line with registration requirements
  • Assessing reviewing planning and providing a 24/7 care service in line with regulatory requirements.

Lets talk about you

Are you resilient and have a positive approach to change and challenge We are looking for someone with a can do attitude to join our team. Ideally you will have:

  • Demonstrable experience of working in a care setting and developing positive relationships through trust
  • Application of a range of techniques to co-ordinate and communicate with service users and their families
  • Demonstrate a solution focused approach to address problems individually and in a team setting
  • Demonstrate emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of the role
  • Possess a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent) or if you do not possess this you must be prepared to complete this within 2 years of commencing employment with us full support will be provided.
