Job Summary

Senior Care Assistant Nights. Dalton Court Care Home

  • Hourly Rate: £13.75 per hour
  • Shift: 3-4 nights per week 8pm-8am
  • Contracted Hours: 38.5 hours per week

Nestled in the charming town of Cockermouth with stunning views of the Lake District fells Dalton Court is a 60-bed care home offering high-quality specialist Nursing and Dementia care in a peaceful and picturesque setting. We’re proud to also provide palliative and end-of-life care along with flexible respite stays tailored to support individuals and families when they need it most.

Working nights at Dalton Court gives you the chance to make a real difference during the quieter hours. Our home has been thoughtfully designed to feel warm welcoming and inclusive. We’re looking for caring compassionate Senior Care Assistants who will support our residents and help ensure the smooth running of the home throughout the night.

As a Night Senior Care Assistant your responsibilities will include:

  • Completing necessary training and ongoing professional development
  • Providing personal care supporting residents’ nighttime routines and assisting with individual needs
  • Offering emotional support and companionship during the night
  • Ensuring residents feel safe secure and comfortable throughout the night
  • Maintaining high care standards and a calm environment
  • Supervising and supporting the night staff team including conducting appraisals maintaining records liaising with external professionals and assisting with recruitment

What We Are Looking For:

  • Leadership or supervisory experience in a residential or nursing home setting
  • A warm and caring personality with a passion for supporting others
  • A Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care (or a willingness to work towards one)
  • Confidence in using technology and maintaining accurate records
  • Resilience and the ability to provide guidance under pressure
  • Flexibility to adapt to the needs of our residents during night shifts

*Overtime is paid for working over full time hours. However overtime enhancement will not feature on your contract of employment and can be withdrawn at any time as managers decision is final. Free meals are given if working over an 8 hour shift and are subject to terms and conditions. Discounts are accessed using our ‘Reward Me’ app. Flexible pay is available via ‘STREAM’.
