- Hourly Rate: £15.50 per hour
- Shift: 3-4 nights per week 8pm-8am
- Contracted Hours: 38.5 hours per week
Nestled in the charming town of Cockermouth with stunning views of the Lake District fells Dalton Court is a 60-bed care home offering high-quality Nursing and Dementia care in a peaceful and picturesque setting. We’re proud to also provide palliative and end-of-life care along with flexible respite stays tailored to support individuals and families when they need it most.
We are seeking an experienced and qualified CHAPS (Care Home Advanced Practitioner) to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to combine hands-on care with advanced clinical responsibilities supporting our nurses and ensuring the highest standards of care for our residents.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver exceptional care and support residents with dignity respect and compassion.
- Assist with clinical tasks under nurse direction including observations wound care PEG checks blood sugars and catheter/stoma care.
- Dispense medication and maintain accurate records.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff ensuring best practice and compliance.
- Contribute to care planning handovers and liaise with external professionals.
- Support the smooth running of the home during night shifts.
What We Are Looking For:
- Genuine interest and experience in caring for older adults.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Willingness to undertake vocational training.
- Satisfactory DBS check.
- NVQ Level 3 (or higher) in Care.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Experience or qualification in Safe Handling of Medicines.

*Overtime is paid for working over full time hours. However overtime enhancement will not feature on your contract of employment and can be withdrawn at any time as managers decision is final.
