The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Bureau.
This position is based in the Treatment Bureau. This role is responsible for the development oversight and management of the SDMI Waiver providers compliance while promoting the programs mission and goals. The SDMI Compliance Specialist ensures waiver providers meet and maintain compliance with program state and federal requirements. This position will ensure identification and resolution of compliance issues that impact provider enrollment service delivery member rights and settings compliance. This position reports directly to the SDMI Section Supervisor.

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity
Broad knowledge of Home and Community Based Services.
Ability to communicate effectively and lead stakeholder groups as assigned.
Ability to travel statewide to conduct in person reviews and evaluations.
Knowledge of service delivery for individuals with severe and disabling mental illness.
Ability to proficiently utilize Microsoft Office Products to include Word Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with providers contracted case management entities and other professional staff to include those working within Medicaid waiver programs state plan as well as non-Medicaid entities.
Meet minimum qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Behavior Health Human Services or a closely related field.
Two years of job-related work experience in community social or health related fields.
Other combinations of related education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Experience with Medicaid is preferred.
Current valid Drivers License and clean driving record in accordance with State of Montana Vehicle Use Policy.

This position may be eligible for partial teleworkwithin the state of conditions will be provided by the supervisor and must adhere to state policy.
This position may be eligible for a statutory $1.00 an hour base pay increase effective July 1 2026.
