Job Description

Tuberculosis Epidemiology Program Manager (Epidemiology Investigation Spv)

The goal of the Bureau of Infectious Diseases (BID) is to prevent and control the spread of infectious diseases (e.g. foodborne outbreaks general infectious diseases healthcare-associated infections influenza meningitis tuberculosis vaccine-preventable diseases waterborne outbreaks zoonotic diseases and vector-borne diseases).

What Youll Do:

The Epidemiology Investigation Supervisor will work within the Bureau of Infectious Diseases to plan implement & manage all aspects of statewide Tuberculosis (TB) epidemiology &surveillance program. Implements epidemiologic studies to assess levels of disease risk ofdisease and prevalence of TB. Additional duties may include:

  • Produces data to prioritize issues of public health concern and for use in identifying outbreaks and evaluating disease control and prevention efforts.
  • Assists supervisor in the development of inter-section and inter-bureau policies to maximize the value of surveillancedata and epidemiologic data for disease monitoring and for the development implementationand evaluation of programmatic activities.
  • Supervises lower-level epidemiology investigators Infectious Disease Control Consultants and assigned staff in the performance of epidemiologic disease control and support activities(e.g. recruits interviews selects orients and trains staff).
  • Writes grant applications and progress reports for the TB Program (e.g. estimates funding needs for personnel travel equipment and educationprojects; summarizes objectives activities evaluation and follow-up).
  • Coordinates collection of data from laboratories health care providers and local health departments.

Normal working hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm (Flexible Schedule). This is anexempt hourly position with a pay range of 14on theE1 Exempt Pay Range Schedule.

Position Qualifications

Completion of graduate core program in public health or preventive medicine; 12 mos. epidemiology investigation with local or federal health agency which included 6 mos. exp. performing duties comparable with duties of Epidemiology Investigator 3 65763.

OR

6 mos. exp. as Epidemiology Investigator 3 65763.

OR

Alternative equivalent evidence of the Minimum Class Qualifications noted above.
