Director - Payroll Data Analytics

The opportunity

As our Directoryoull bring your deep expertise in payroll data analytics to lead the technical review of payroll remediation projects to support our various clients in Global Mobility.

This role can be performed from any of our EY offices across Australia. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.

Your key responsibilities

  • Payroll Data Analytics and Remediation: Spearhead the technical review of payroll remediation projects to ensure wage compliance and accurate entitlement calculations in accordance with legal instructions. This includes overseeing projects such as Award/EBAs reviews leave accruals progression superannuation guarantee remediation and enforceable undertakings.
  • Fringe Benefits Tax Data Modelling and Tools: Lead specific FBT-focused engagements by building various data models to determine applicable FBT amounts. Additionally guide the team in using coding and analytics tools particularly Alteryx SQL R RPA and data visualization tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy in FBT functions.
  • Relationship Management with Regulatory Authorities: Maintain and manage relationships with regulatory bodies such as the Australian Taxation Office and Fair Work Ombudsman to ensure compliance and effective communication.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Extensive Experience and Leadership: Over 9 years of experience in payroll data analytics with a proven track record of leading large data-heavy engagements. Demonstrated leadership within a Big Four accounting firm or an equivalent organization.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong technical skills in Alteryx SQL R RPA tools and data visualization enabling efficient and accurate data analysis and modeling.
  • Client Communication and Business Development: Excellent client communication and business development skills ensuring effective client interactions and successful project outcomes.
