Job Description

Alfred Health

Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery improvement research and education. We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services.

  • Part-time (0.6EFT / 48hours) until December 2027
  • RPN Grade 5 Social Worker or Occupational Therapist Grade 4

About us

Alfred Mental & Addiction Health (AMAH) is responsible for the operation of services which focus on people with a severe mental illness residing in the Inner Southeastern area of Melbourne.

The single most important goal of AMAH is to create an environment that facilitates clinical recovery supports individual recovery efforts and strives to minimise service system barriers to the recovery process.

What youll be doing

The Salvation Army Project 614 consists of a team of staff and volunteers based in the City of Melbourne who are passionate about working with those who live on the city fringes to address issues of homelessness or risks related to homelessness mental health issues addiction or social poverty. Connecting with hundreds of people every day the program works to achieve positive outcomes for clients through a range of associated support services.

Alfred Health supports this initiative through the implementation of a dedicated mental health team within Project 614 to support consumers to engage with and receive treatment for a range of mental health changes that this vulnerable population may present with. There may be opportunities to combine this role with others at Alfred Health in the future.

About you

  • Approved tertiary qualifications and eligibility for membership with relevant registering body:
    • Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA
    • Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia via AHPRA
    • Eligibility for membership withthe Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • Australian working rights
  • 2025 Influenza vaccination
  • Current Victorian Drivers License and be willing to undergo a Background Check
