POSITION: Senior Manager of Multilingual Education
LOCATION: DSST: Home Office located in Denver CO
REPORTS TO: Director of Multilingual Education
SALARY RANGE: $81500-$98000 based on aligned years of experience up to 10 years.
BONUS: Relocation stipend available for candidates moving 75 miles to Denver

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
DSST Public Schools is seeking a passionate equity-driven educator to serve as Senior Manager of Multilingual Education. This leadership role sits on our Home Office team and directly supports school-based teams to ensure that Multilingual Learners (MLLs) across our network receive rigorous inclusive and identity-affirming instruction.
Reporting to the Director of Multilingual Education this role combines strategic planning cross-functional collaboration and school support to accelerate academic outcomes and language development for our MLL students. Youll drive implementation of our network-wide MLE vision coach and develop leaders and teachers and serve as a key partner to our LEA colleagues in both Denver Public Schools and Aurora Public Schools.

WHAT YOULL DO:
Multilingual Education Vision and Progress to Goals (15%)
Build buy in to a compelling vision for DSSTs English Language Development (ELD) programming including approach to curriculum assessment and instructional practices
Accelerate the vision for how DSST develops and supports all content area teachers to support the learning of Multilingual Learners to ensure they have access to grade level instruction (ICLD)
Collaborate to implement a multi- year plan to improve support and programming for Multilingual Learners including developing teachers and leaders towards the vision.
Stay up to date on research and best practices for supporting Multilingual Learners; integrate best practices into how DSST supports these learners
Support Schools (40%)
Use understanding of data and MLE programming at the school level to carry out the vision for how the MLE Department will support schools in pursuit of improved outcomes
Proactively support coaches of ELD and MLE Admin to develop their programs and teams towards the vision for MLE; help school leaders troubleshoot and problem solve when necessary
Provide direct support to a portfolio of schools (may be assigned to middle schools or high schools)
Monitor goals analyze data and partner with schools to ensure teachers and leaders are effectively responding to data in pursuit of growth and wellbeing for Multilingual Learners
Teacher and Leader Development (25%)
Plan and lead professional development aligned to the vision for MLE for ELD teachers coaches of ELD and MLE Administrators
Develop and coach leaders in creating strong school-specific annual plans for improving MLE programming and outcomes
Coach and support MLE Admin and ELD coaches
Manage LEA Relationships and Compliance (15%)
Collaborate with partners at DSSTs two Local Education Agencies Denver Public Schools and Aurora Public Schools to ensure strong relationships and coordination
Support schools in developing strong partnerships with DPS and APS
Monitor compliance data and support schools in building strong structures for ISA and Teacher Qualification work to ensure that all deadlines are met.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
DSST Public Schools seeks candidates with strong character passion for excellence and a relentless commitment to student achievement.
Bachelors Degree required from accredited university
Leadership experience
3 years of experience in a school-based instructional leadership role and/or a network/district leadership role
3 years of experience directly managing others
Experience Implementing goal-setting and monitoring of progress to goals
1 years of experience managing compliance systems
Teaching experience
6-12 experience as a teacher supporting English language learners
6-12 experience teaching English Language Development (ELD) English as a Second Language (ESL) or English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
Bilingual Spanish/English

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters Degree in the areas of applied linguistics culturally and linguistically diverse education educational leadership or literacy education strongly preferred
5 years of experience in education (classroom experience required)
