The Team:

The In-Business Controls team within the Ratings division is dedicated to ensuring operational excellence and robust risk management. The Impact:

This position is pivotal in providing 1st Line risk & control support for the Analytical teams across S&P Global Ratings with a primary focus on the APAC will need to understand how operational systems are managed effectively ensuring alignment with broader organizational role will involve identifying and remediating risk & control issues implementing control monitoring & testing and delivering insights for risk-based decision will be supporting the first line stakeholders in ensuring all the analytical procedures are consistent with established policies procedures and applicable regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Ratings colleagues to ensure alignment between specific risk priorities and broader IBC and Ratings priorities.
  • Ensure that new processes and solutions are designed with necessary controls to ensure quality risk mitigation and adherence to policies and regulation.
  • Deliver insights to Analytical personnel to enable effective risk-based decision making.
  • Conduct risk-based periodic monitoring and testing of key controls; Utilize databases to develop and design monitoring and testing of controls.
  • Contribute to projects that address regulatory needs including regulatory exams and remediation of findings.
  • Participate in and/or lead projects with emphasis on controls and process improvement.
  • Advise on the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and internal controls.
  • Work with 2nd/3rd Line departments to optimize the partnership between the 3 Lines of Defense.
  • Monitor exceptions to process and ensure compliance with applicable procedures.
  • Analyze and resolve moderately complex situations related to internal controls and quality assurance activities.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on SOPs and Policies governing S&P Global Ratings.
  • Support risk and regulatory projects including Management Action Plans (MAPs).
  • Deliver training on policies procedures and controls as well as any systems or tools related to specific controls.
  • Contribute to global risk and control initiatives.

What Were Looking For:

  • A candidate at this level typically holds a bachelors degree with minimum 5 years of experience in internal controls or operational processes.
  • Extensive knowledge of the credit ratings process and regulatory frameworks globally.
  • Ability to operate with autonomy and advise on complex matters.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written to interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Self-starter eager to learn new concepts and processes.
  • All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
  • We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.
