This is a remote position.

Schedule:

  • 20 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday flexible between 9 AM to 5 PM Bronx NY

We are now seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Assistant to join our team and help streamline our billing operations.

Position Overview
The Medical Billing Assistant will play a key role in managing insurance-related processes including claims submission verification and authorization. This role requires accuracy attention to detail and an understanding of medical billing procedures to ensure smooth financial operations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance providers in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform patient insurance verification to confirm coverage and eligibility.
  • Obtain necessary authorizations and approvals from insurance companies.
  • Review billing information for accuracy and completeness before submission.
  • Follow up on pending claims and resolve discrepancies or denials.
  • Maintain clear and organized records of billing claims and authorizations.
  • Communicate with patients and insurance representatives to address billing questions or issues.
  • Collaborate with the practice team to ensure accurate patient records and billing processes.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in medical billing insurance claims or a similar administrative role is a must for this role
  • Knowledge of healthcare billing procedures insurance verification and authorization processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for working with patients insurers and team members.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in using billing software and office applications.
  • Highly organized self-motivated and able to work independently.
