Description

Hennepin Countys Environment and Energy department is seeking a Scale House Supervisor. This position will be responsible for ensuring efficient operations managing appropriate staffing levels overseeing the departments call center and generating reports based on data collected at the scale houses. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about developing others this position may be for you.

Location and hours:
This position will primarily be based on-site at the Brooklyn Park Transfer Station located at 8100 Jefferson Highway Brooklyn Park MN 55445. Additional work may be required at the Hennepin County Energy Recovery Center (HERC) at 505 North 6th Avenue Minneapolis MN 55405 and the Bloomington Drop-Off Center at 1400 West 96th Street Bloomington MN 55431. Work hours are Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. with flexibility in start and end times. Occasional weekend hours and on-call availability are required.

This is a full-time benefit earning position. You must be acurrent regular or probationary employee of Hennepin County to apply for this position. Limited duration employees are not eligible.
This position is internally classified as an Administrative Supervisor.

  • Experience:
    • Hiring supervising and/or leading employees.
    • Developing implementing and administering training to employees.
    • Using Paradigm or other scale management software.
    • Using CISCO or other call center software.
    • Assisting with budget analysis and preparation.
    • Using Microsoft Office Suite and/or other similar applications to create reports spreadsheets presentations etc.
  • Ability to:
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
    • Actively contribute to creating a workplace that values diversity and inclusion.
    • Engage in ongoing professional development related to diversity equity and inclusion.
    • Investigate and resolve complaints.
    • Read and interpret policies procedures laws and regulations.
    • Meet deadlines and produce accurate work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of policy and procedure recommendations related to the Environment and Energy Drop-off Facilities.
