Hours:

Monday thru Friday Hours vary 8:00am-Noon

ECFE Coordinator

ECFE Assistant (childcare)
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the ECFE Coordinator the ECFE Assistant provides assistance to instructional personnel by assisting in ECFE classroom set; monitoring supervising and/or providing child care for infants toddlers preschoolers or older siblings while parents attend classes; participates in classroom activities and classes with parents and children; and assisting in the greeting and clean up functions prior to and after ECFE classes.

  • Assists ECFE instructional staff in maintaining a stimulating health and clean classroom environment.
  • Assists the staff in the set up and planning for daily age appropriate activities or in assembling materials supplies games toys etc. needed depending upon the needs within the classroom.
  • Assists staff in creating a proper learning and classroom environment.
  • Lays out the attendance book and prepares class snacks if indicated.
  • Greets parents and children as they arrive.
  • Comforts children who are upset by separation from parents.
  • Organizes and conducts various age appropriate social and educational activities for children.
  • Supervises children in the childcare room during ECFE activities.
  • Interacts with children in play reading rocking and/or doing various projects.
  • Monitors and supervises children to oversee their safety.
  • Enforces good play habits.
  • Serves children snacks at appropriate time if indicated.
  • Picks up the room stores toys and materials away.
  • Share any concerns with parents when they arrive.
  • Cleans and disinfects all toys surfaces and materials.
  • Reports any incidents or problems to appropriate staff members.
  • Performs other duties of a comparable level or type as required.
