Position Summary
The Service Desk Support Specialist is the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance. This role is responsible for providing efficient and timely support troubleshooting and issue resolution for hardware software and IT systems to ensure smooth business operations.
Serve as the first line of support for IT-related incidents and service requests via phone email or ticketing system.
Troubleshoot hardware software network and application issues for end-users.
Log track and document incidents and requests in the service management system ensuring timely updates and resolutions.
Escalate unresolved issues to higher-level support teams in accordance with established procedures.
Provide guidance to users on standard software applications and IT policies.
Assist with user account setup password resets and access management.
Support the deployment and configuration of desktops laptops and mobile devices.
Contribute to the creation and maintenance of knowledge base articles and technical documentation.
Monitor system alerts and respond proactively to minimize downtime.
Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field (or equivalent work experience).
13 years of experience in IT support help desk or service desk role.
Strong knowledge of Windows/Mac operating systems Microsoft 365 and common business applications.
Familiarity with IT ticketing systems (e.g. ServiceNow Jira Zendesk).
Basic understanding of networking (TCP/IP DNS VPN).
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Customer-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
