Job Summary:
The Clinical Informatics Specialist leverages technology to enhance healthcare delivery by optimizing information systems supporting clinical staff and ensuring data accuracy and security. The role involves designing implementing and managing Meditech clinical systems developing clinical decision support tools and providing training and support to healthcare professionals.
- System design and management: Design build and manage Meditech clinical systems including order sets and decision support tools.
- Data Analysis and Optimization: Analyze health data to identify trends improve workflows and enhance patient care outcomes. Works closely with in various committees educators and quality to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Training and Support: Train providers and clinical staff on the use of Meditech providing ongoing support to ensure proper utilization and troubleshooting. Demonstrating training and implementing system enhancements.
- Ensuring Data Quality and Security: Ensures the accuracy reliability and security of patient data implementing measures to maintain confidentiality and privacy.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborates with various stakeholders including clinicians IT staff and administrators to facilitate effective communication and data exchange.
- Co-chair Physician Advisory Group (PAG)
- Co-chair Clinical Informatics Advisory Council (CIAC)
- Collaboration with other facilities to determine best practice and standard workflows.
- Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve issues related to clinical information systems ensuring smooth operation and optimal functionality.
- Policy and Procedure Development: Develop and implement policies and procedures related to the use of clinical information systems ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Education and Training:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing is required; LPN RN or BSN.
Experience:
- Three years working in clinical settings is preferred.
- Three years of Meditech or similar EMR experience is preferred.
- Foundational IT knowledge preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of electronic health records (EHRs) clinical workflows and information systems.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills:Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving Skills:Ability to troubleshoot system issues and develop effective solutions.
- Knowledge of Healthcare Regulations:Understanding of relevant healthcare regulations and standards such as HIPPA.
- Clinical Background (RN Preferred):Understanding clinical workflows
