Job Description
This contract position is for a Medical/Clinical Laboratory Technologist at Socorro General Hospital. The Technologist will perform laboratory testing and analysis contributing to patient diagnosis and treatment. The role requires adherence to established laboratory procedures and protocols. The position is a 13-week contract with a 10-hour night shift (9:00 PM to 7:00 AM).
- Ensuring accuracy and precision in all testing procedures.
- Maintaining detailed records and documentation of all tests performed.
- Adhering to safety regulations and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment.
- Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions.
- Participating in quality control and quality assurance activities.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Current certification as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).
- Proficiency in various laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with specific laboratory information systems (LIS).
- Advanced certifications or specializations in specific areas of laboratory technology.
- 40 guaranteed hours per week; overtime after 40 hours.
- No call-off policy specified.
