Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Vice President to join the Brookfield Japan office In a capacity of driving sales where there are existing products on intermediary platforms in Japan. This Vice President will have existing relevant client relationships strong presentation skills excellent attention to detail and a know-how of client account management responsibilities to i) Drive wealth management sales results in Japan in turn contributing to business priorities and ii) To be equally responsible for the highest quality of client servicing and sales support duties within the team.

The role will represent the full spectrum of Brookfield and Oaktrees investment capabilities including our private funds (close and open ended) liquid public securities solutions and evergreen vehicles.

JOB PURPOSE

This role will focus on fundraising and sales efforts within the Japan equal importance the candidate will be responsible for client servicing and sales support to distributors for BOWS products. The primary client focus will be on Japan based private wealth intermediaries. The candidate should have a desire to develop an entrepreneurial style of business development and sales skills within a top tier Alternative asset manager or traditional asset manager.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Responsibilities include:

  • Drive sales and client activity with intermediaries via meetings events and regular engagement

  • To engage and work on product due diligence discussions and idea generation with distributors

  • Work on sales campaigns events and road shows.

  • To carry out product related presentations at a high level of competency and effectiveness

  • Provide timely client support to distributors

  • Collaborate with functional teams and service providers to ensure clients requests and questions get addressed timely and properly e.g. with marketing operations investments legal compliance product management teams external platform partners etc.

Key contacts the individual will have on an ongoing basis:

  • Internal Colleagues from the following departments: BOWS colleagues Investments Global Client Group Marketing Investor Relations Project Management Teams Legal and Compliance Finance and more.

  • External Private wealth/intermediary distributors within Japan

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Relevant client facing experience within the private wealth management channels in a fast working environment

  • At least 7 years experience in client facing roles for the private wealth/intermediary sales channel

  • Solid financial product knowledge experience in alternatives is a plus

  • A passion for the markets and having a growth mindset

  • Great attention to details a responsible person with strong work ethics and a positive attitude

  • Be able to stretch into any area and take ownership of delegated tasks to support teams goals

  • A multi-tasker that can prioritize and manage their time effectively

  • Strong team player with a collaborative nature to be a culture fit for Brookfield

  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity

  • Appropriate degree in business/accounting/ finance

KEY COMPETENCIES/BEHAVIOURS REQUIRED

  • Fluent in Japanese and English

  • Outstanding relationship-building communication and presentation skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in dealings with clients and internal stakeholders

  • Able to adapt to a fast-changing environment.

  • Organized and detail oriented.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including preparation and delivery of presentations.

  • Self-motivated and proactive with respect to managing workload and new business origination

  • Experience working in an international organisation and willingness to be flexible with hours as part of a global organisation

  • Advanced Excel PowerPoint
