The Department of Economic Security (DES) Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Community Relations Liaison. This role involves collaborating with faith-based and community organizations implementing and expanding DCSS community programs and developing innovative strategies to build and maintain relationships with community partners. The Liaison works closely with agency leadership to revise policies and procedures in alignment with the agencys mission. Additionally the position represents DCSS in meetings with government and community officials makes strategic recommendations and prepares proposals on community development issues. Serving as a key liaison for organizations seeking solutions to community concerns this position involves extensive public interaction and requires frequent in-state travel. This position also serves as a supervisor including training assigning and checking work etc. Reliable transportation is necessary and the work schedule includes evenings some weekends and overnight stays often with minimal advance notice.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the departments business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Builds and maintains strong relationships with faith-based and community organizations to support DES clients
Develops implements and evaluates community engagement initiatives in alignment with agency goals
Tracks and reports project outcomes metrics and quality improvements
Raises awareness of OCE initiatives and engages stakeholders and the public
Identifies workflow issues and develops corrective action plans
Prepares proposals presentations and grant materials for community-related initiatives
Coordinates with internal teams and leadership to implement approved plans and complete assigned tasks
Oversees development of community relations materials including newsletters and pamphlets
Knowledge of:
DES programs services and rules; local community programs and resources.
Basics of human services and how they work in different settings
How state and federal government systems work
Leadership and team motivation skills
Skills In:
Effective interpersonal relationships community engagement and public relations.
Communication network development public speaking leadership and presentation skills.
skills in various platforms like Google Suite Excel and Salesforce.
Ability to:
Set priorities and manage a busy fast-paced workload. Schedule and manage events effectively
Plan and coordinate projects organizing people and resources gather data and create reports
Build positive working relationships with diverse individuals and groups
Demonstrate reliability fairness openness and follow-through
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Supervise a team independently
Analyze large amounts of information accurately
Follow established guidelines policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and timeliness
Travel statewide and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
Bachelors degree and three or more years of community organizing or other related experience.
In-state travel is required. Drivers License Requirements.
Must have or be able to obtain a valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) the state-sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period.
