Job Description:
- Validates and ensures the accuracy of patient demographic information in the health information management system.
- Reviews and analyzes medical records to identify incomplete or missing documentation. Performs needed chart corrections and requested changes.
- Collaborates with healthcare providers Legal Services and other internal departments to maintain accurate and complete documentation.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the accuracy and completeness of medical records.
- Assists with the scanning and organizing of paper-based medical records.
- Maintains confidentiality of all medical records and patient information.
Education Requirement:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associates Degree in Health Information Management preferred.
Licensure Requirement:

Certifications:
RHIT or RHIA certification preferred.
Skills:
- Proficient with computers and ability to learn new software programs.
- Analytical and organizational skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and privacy protection.
Experience:
- Two years of experience in hospital setting or medical office required.
- Medical record experience preferred.
