Duties and Responsibilities
- Apply image analysis skills on clinical and research MRI techniques and sequences to study patients with stroke and dementia or at risk of these conditions in large cohort studies as well as randomized controlled trials
- Work with the Stroke Research and Prevention Group of HKU () to manage other research-related projects
- Assist in neuroimaging data acquisition and analysis write-up of the results prepare scientific publications draft research grants provide strategic guidance to ensure successful project outcomes
- Provide technical training/coaching and supervision of research team members and students
- Perform any ad hoc or administrative duties as assigned
Requirements
- A Ph.D. degree in Neuroimaging Biomedical Engineering Electrical Engineering Physics Computer Science or other related disciplines
- Extensive experience in processing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) such as arterial spin labeling and diffusion tractography using programming scripts such as Python and C
- Demonstrated expertise in the analysis of large and complex dataset
- Strong leadership experience with a track record of managing a research team and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Self-driven motivated and creative in designing their image analysis pipeline according to project requirements
- Excellent communication analytical organizational and problem-solving skills
- An excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese
- Able to work in a multidisciplinary team
- Experience in image analysis packages such as Freesurfer FSL SPM or 3DSlicer or using machine learning or artificial intelligence models would be advantageous
- Those with less experience/track record may be considered for appointment as Research Officer
