Job Summary

Facilities Maintenance Technician (Level 1) provides maintenance and general upkeep to Delta Intelligent Building Technologies (Canada) Inc. property grounds and buildings.

Duties and Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Routine Maintenance: Performing regular inspections and minor maintenance on building systems such as HVAC plumbing electrical and fire protection systems to ensure they are operating efficiently and safely.
  • Repair Work: Identifying and troubleshooting issues with building systems and equipment and performing repairs as necessary to maintain functionality.
  • Custodial Duties: Performing cleaning tasks as needed to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the facility including common areas restrooms and outdoor spaces.
  • Groundskeeping: Maintaining the exterior grounds of the facility such as removing snow ensuring that walkways are clear and safe.
  • Safety Inspections: Conducting regular safety inspections of the facility to identify and address potential hazards and ensuring compliance with relevant safety regulations.
  • Emergency Response: 2nd call Responding to emergency situations such as power outages floods and fires and taking appropriate actions to mitigate damage and ensure the safety of occupants.
  • Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities equipment inspections and repairs performed and documenting any issues or concerns for future reference.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinating with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance tasks or repairs that cannot be handled internally.
  • Tenant Relations: Communicating with tenants or occupants regarding maintenance schedules planned disruptions and any issues affecting their comfort or safety within the facility.
  • Training and Development: Staying updated on new technologies maintenance techniques and safety procedures through training programs and professional development opportunities.
  • Other Duties: Performing other duties as assigned by management to support the overall operation and maintenance of the facility.
  • Completing tasks assigned from a ticket tracking system.

Job Requirements

  • Maintenance person experience is preferred.
  • Trouble shooting
  • Experience with hand tools.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication in English.
  • Must be proactive and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Salary: $20.82 to $23.85/hour

This range reflects the minimum and maximum target payable for the base salary of new hires across all Canadian locations. Actual compensation may vary outside this range and is dependent on various factors.
