Group Account Director Digital

INNOCEAN USA a full-service ad agency located in sunny Huntington Beach CA is seeking a contract Group Account Director Digital to join our growing team!

This is a long-term contract role with potential to covert to fulltime in 2026.

We are a hybrid workplace x3 days week in-office. Candidates must be local to SoCal.

The Group Account Director Digital oversees the team in executing digital (especially automotive ) projects on behalf of our clients. The ideal candidate has previous experience in an agency or client services environment and will have managed multiple teams across a variety of digital / web / data-centric projects simultaneously to successful completion.

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

The Digital Account team is responsible for website CRM cross-channel execution data science/analytics-related coordination and implementation among providing other Digital specialties for our clients. We are a team of specialists and subject matter experts with a deep understanding of our clients business and customer behavior across all digital touchpoints.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Digital

  • Reliably demonstrate subject matter expertise related to digital channel marketing including but not limited to auto OEM T1 and site marketing site analytics relevant Google and Adobe products Salesforce and paid digital/social media.
  • Regularly demonstrate ability to go from project management to client management to strategic leadership and team management with the ability to identify needs and develop cross-sell/up-sell recommendations for potential program / team / account enhancements.
  • Truly understand data insights and analysis to effectively develop present and execute strategies designed to steer increased performance across digital channels and added capability.
  • Effectively collaborate with Creative Strategy Analytics Data Engineering all forms of Production Project Management Operations Finance and Cross Channel teams to ensure expectations roles responsibilities needs and plans are always clear.

Business/Marketing

  • Build a solid understanding of the clients business economics major customer segments and competitive set as well as business information (qualitative and quantitative).
  • Provide marketing and creative recommendations and strategies based on customer channel business and brand insight.
  • Identify new business opportunities to deepen the relationship and partnership. Leverage agency and client knowledge to identify growth opportunities and sell in new services.

Leadership

  • Serve as a passionate capable and visible leader of the account business digital specialty as well as data and analytics both in internal and external meetings.
  • Partner with clients in a positive professional effective and constructive way establishing solid long-term relationships across all Client teams.
  • Effectively manage up sideways and down including regular mentorship and guidance to working-level teams.
  • Quickly understand and articulate client strategy needs as well as expectations and steer efforts with insight as required.
  • Demonstrate flexibility adaptability and an ability to read the room accurately in order to guide teams to respond appropriately and successfully address issues.
  • Appropriately escalate issues and risks in complex situations and in a timely manner.

Financial / Project Management

  • Manages entire programs independently adhering to agency process working effectively with all capabilities and using their expertise appropriately.
  • Ensure team members take appropriate personal accountability for on-time on-budget quality execution and administrative follow-through.
  • Proactively manage and tactfully communicate with internal and external teams (as appropriate) on scope schedule and budget with clients on an ongoing basis.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10 years of experience managing digital marketing projects and websites in an ad agency environment.
  • Ad agency digital or full-service is a MUST.
  • Automotive experience is a MUST.
  • Experience and working technical knowledge of automotive OEM website management (including understanding paid media ecosystems)
  • Previous experience in a similar management role.
  • Demonstrated success building high value relationships with clients and agency team members.
  • Ability to think strategically work autonomously and employ sound judgment consistently.
  • Thorough understanding of advertising agency process and client-side organizational dynamics.
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
  • Strong project management and ability to provide team leadership and strategic direction to diverse multi-location groups.
  • Flexible and accepting of ever-changing needs.
  • Multi-tasking problem solving and ability to prioritize
  • Experience managing client budgets billing timelines staffing.
  • Ability to inspire the talent and creativity of team members and direct reports.

The salary for this role is $193000. Pay is dependent uponseveralfactorsincluding but not limited to: clientexperience training and/or transferable skills.
