About the Role
Kam Yuen Group is seeking an accomplishedGroup Quality Directorto establish and lead the group-wide quality strategy standards and infrastructure across all subsidiaries. This is a newly created high-impact role reporting directly to the business owner with responsibility for driving excellence in quality management compliance and operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate will be aPhD holder with deep expertise in the semiconductor industry capable of understanding precision technology operations while implementing best-in-class quality systems. With a team of 12 professionals this leader will ensure alignment with global quality benchmarks while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Define and implement the groupsquality vision policies and long-term roadmapto align with business objectives.
- Develop and standardizequality management systems (QMS)across subsidiaries ensuring compliance withISO 9001 IATF 16949 or semiconductor-specific standards.
- Drivezero-defect initiativesand advanced quality planning (AQP) for precision manufacturing processes.
Operational Excellence
- Overseequality control assurance and compliancefor semiconductor and precision technology operations.
- Leadroot cause analysis (RCA) failure mode analysis (FMEA) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)for critical quality issues.
- Establishdata-driven quality metricsand KPIs to monitor performance and implement improvements.
Team & Stakeholder Management
- Build mentor and lead ahigh-performing quality team(12 members) across multiple subsidiaries.
- Collaborate withR&D engineering and production teamsto integrate quality standards into product design and manufacturing.
- Liaise withsuppliers customers and regulatory bodiesto ensure adherence to industry and customer-specific requirements.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- ChampionLean Six Sigma TQM or other process optimization methodologies.
- Stay ahead ofindustry trends emerging technologies and regulatory changesin semiconductor manufacturing.
- Implementautomation and AI-driven quality inspection toolswhere applicable.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- PhDinElectrical Engineering Materials Science Semiconductor Physics or related technical field.
- 15 years of progressive quality leadership experience with at least10 years in the semiconductor industry.
- Deep understanding ofprecision manufacturing processes(e.g. wafer fabrication IC packaging metrology).
- Proven track record inbuilding and scaling quality systemsin a multi-site multi-disciplinary environment.
- Strong knowledge ofindustry standards(ISO 9001 IATF 16949 VDA 6.3 AEC-Q100).
- Fluent inEnglish and Mandarin(written and spoken); Cantonese is a plus.
Preferred:
- Experience working inglobal semiconductor firms(e.g. TSMC Intel Samsung ASML or top Chinese fabs).
- Certification inSix Sigma Black Belt Lean Manufacturing or Quality Auditing.
- Exposure toAI/ML applications in quality control.
