Essential Responsibilities
Lead the strategy design and execution of product safety risk assessment methodologies for GE Aerospace technologies.
Design and implement processes to identify and mitigate safety risks conduct rigorous assessments when authorized and evaluate human factors and hazards to reduce risk in product development and operation.
Head the Safety Focal team ensuring consistent roles and responsibilities across SPMT members to support safety throughout development and field operations.
Represent the Flight Safety Office in senior leadership forums championing a proactive safety culture and driving continuous improvement in safety performance and knowledge sharing.
Collaborate with business units and partners to ensure that GEs safety standards reflect the industrys best practices and reduce overall business risk.
Identify safety concerns early in development programs and ensure timely and clear communication to Certification Boards and other stakeholders.
Develop and refine processes to enhance GEs safety response and decision-making.
Provide expert safety guidance to internal teams executives airframers and regulatory bodies.
Provide expert consultation and mentoring on safety and reliability including support for flight readiness reviews safety program strategies and design trade studies for both current products and potential NPIs. Actively engage in Safety Advisory Committees with airframers to align safety goals and initiatives.
Lead and manage a cross-functional team with responsibility for resource planning budgeting and invoice oversight across EU projects. Serve as the primary communication focal with AW/EASA for safety and accident-related matters while driving team development and mentoring initiatives.
Serve as a certified accident investigator and primary liaison for AAII government agencies and industry groups (including GAMA) in the EU turboprop sector. Lead or support root cause analyses coordinate field event investigations provide legal and technical consultation and synthesize findings into actionable design guidance for GEA products.
Act as the Safety Manager and Form 4 holder ensuring compliance with Part 21 regulations while co-owning and driving Safety Management System (SMS) programs strategies training and audits both internally and externally.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelors or Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field; advanced degree or specialized training in aviation safety is a plus.
Expertise in systems integration and technical problem-solving
Strong knowledge of safety processes airworthiness and regulatory compliance
Experience in fleet management product support and maintenance
Proven leadership in program management and cross-functional collaboration
Skills in talent development through mentoring and coaching
Strategic thinking with solid business acumen and industry awareness
Good command of English language oral and written
Work VISA in accordance with local regulation is required
