Administrator Emergency Department

  • Southland Hospital Part-time 0.5FTE (20 hours per week) Monday to Sunday rostered shifts
  • Salary between $72035 and $75050 per annum pro rata

About the Role

Our Emergency Department is a busy service and provides care for approximately 40000 attendances every year. We have a triage area a rapid assessment area dedicated resuscitation areas acute sub-acute and paediatric cubicles. Our department carries out all acute care including full patient resuscitation facilities management of trauma fractures injuries etc. The EDs vision is to be a centre of clinical care and customer service excellence. We pride ourselves on having a strong focus on customer service and its success is reliant on effective communication and teamwork.

About you

This is a fast-paced environment and experienced applicants will thrive in this busy front-line area of the hospital. We are looking for someone to carry out varied administrative duties to support the wider team and ensure our department runs smoothly. You will have excellent organisational and time management skills in addition to a professional can-do attitude in line with our values.

Naturally you will have a friendly and welcoming nature and be comfortable interacting with patients both in person and on the phone. As an experienced administrator you will also be skilled at juggling multiple priorities and able to remain calm under pressure.

Ideally you will bring the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience in a busy administration role
  • Be competent and confident using the Microsoft Office suite particularly Word Excel and Outlook
  • Have excellent word processing and data entry skills with a strong eye for detail
  • Flexible approach with the ability to successfully prioritise your workload
  • Respectful nature handling confidential often sensitive information in a professional manner
