For those with an interest in Amazons Private Brands business the Sourcing Manager role provides an exciting opportunity to dive deep into data work with suppliers across the globe uncover defects and process improvement opportunities and design and implement long-term solutions in collaboration with product quality operations transportation and customer service teams. This role will be responsible for executing and improving the best practices in Global Sourcing. The interaction touches almost every aspect of Amazon worldwide including retail operations legal product compliance transportation tax treasury accounting graphic design customer service public relations etc. The talented individual will be able to manage the global sourcing process from A to Z including product planning vendor / item set-up and maintenance pricing packaging assortments and vendor relations. The ability to work in a demanding but collegial team-oriented environment is a must. Data analytical skills with SQL/Tableau and project management experience are both pluses as is previous management experience. Both domestic and international travel may be necessary.
Key job responsibilities
- Creation of category vendor management and sourcing strategy for one or more categories
- Drive continuous cost optimization
- Conduct supplier management
- Partner with the cross functional teams for first class product development
- Identify defects and develop scalable processes/tech solutions to address and accelerate our Private Label business.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve tools and productivity.
- Bachelors degree is required. MBA or advanced engineering degree is preferred;
- 5 years in product management/product development/global sourcing/business development/project management is required;
- Experience in interacting with suppliers in different geographies are required;
- Self-motivated and results driven;
- High attention to detail comfortable with hands-on management of tasks and proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously;
- Demonstrated data-driven decision making and quantitative analysis skills;
- Proficient in Excel and SQL;
- Experience of managing large data set;
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of SQL and VBA at an advanced level
- Experience building and analyzing cost/benefit scenarios and business cases and communicating results throughout the organization
- Experience in Tableau QuickSight and Power BI are preferred.
