Job Description

Senior Research Assistant/ Research Assistant I/II in Community Child Health in the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine (Ref.: 532419) (to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis or a one-year temporary basis with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

The appointee(s) will work with a team of researchers on projects related to big data large-scale population-based longitudinal studies and electronic medical records-based cohort studies particularly in the areas of special educational needs and mental health. The appointee(s) will conduct statistical data analysis and interpretation prepare scientific publications grant proposals and reports prepare and manage IRB applications provide general administrative and operational support and perform other duties as assigned.

Applicants should possess: (i) a Bachelors degree or above in Statistics Biostatistics Public Health Epidemiology Health Economics Data Science or related disciplines with a strong quantitative background; (ii) experience and proficiency in statistical data analysis using R STATA SAS or other statistical packages; (iii) excellent written and oral communication skills; (iv) strong problem-solving organisational and administrative abilities; and (v) attention to detail with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary team. Proficiency in big data manipulation longitudinal analyses and a track record of publications would be an advantage. On-the-job training will be provided.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed-term basis will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
