About this role:
The Senior Supplier Engineering Manager will be responsible for management of the China Supplier Engineering Team delivery of projects in the region for BSCs Global Manufacturing locations in China Asia the Americas and Europe technical management of BSCs China based suppliers and identifying and establishing new 3rd party suppliers. Initially the role will also be focused on establishing & developing the Supplier Engineering Team for component supply as none already exists in China. It will require collaboration with a broad range of cross functional stakeholders both at peer and leadership level.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Establishing and managing the China Supplier Engineering Team for component supply
- Develop Supplier Engineering Team members in preparation for expansion of our 3rd party supply base in China
- Establish deep technical relationships with 3rd party suppliers in China and the region
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive expedited completion of China supply chain projects
- Identification and development of best-in-class China Medical device component suppliers
- Technical management of China based suppliers to enable delivery of key Quality Service and Cost objectives for BSC
- Creation of project plans schedules and risk trackers for projects and communication across the organization as needed
- Ensure successful execution of projects using various tool kits work instructions and industry best practices.
- Deploy global Supplier Engineering metrics tools systems and processes in China
- Delegate and manage tasks among team members as appropriate
- Elevate issues and clear barriers to allow for project success.
- Resolve conflicts with team members and involve functional management as required to ensure timely project completion.
- Regularly communicate project updates to peer and leadership level stakeholders
- Proactively manage tracking and communication of progress on key business objectives
What Were Looking For:
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10 years engineering experience (manufacturing process development R&D or equivalent)
- 5 years managing an engineering team
- Bachelors degree required preferably in engineering
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time within China and throughout the BSc network of manufacturing sites
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of 3rd party Medical Device component supply base in China
- Medical Device manufacturing experience including familiarity with equipment qualification and process validation.
- Familiarity with identifying driving and implementing continuous improvement projects
- 5 years technical project management experienc
