The Security Officers is concerned with the efficient and professional service of Security while ensuring the Safety and Security in accordance with the standards policies and procedures of the Conrad hotel and Hilton Group.

What will I be doing

As the Security Officer you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • To actively participate in the day to day security operations of the property to ensure the safety and security of all guests employees and property.
  • To patrol the interior and exterior of the hotel and confront any situations or persons that require investigation.
  • To handle and document guest and employee accidents valuable left unattended in room or other areas noise complaints and prostitutes.
  • To assist any guests with friendly warm attentive and tactful service.
  • To implement all policies procedures instructions regarding security and safety.
  • To assist in implementing preventive safety and security programs.
  • To investigate crimes committed against the hotel guests and employees.
  • To document all incidents occurring in the hotel in connection with crime subversions potential liabilities and insurance requirements.
  • To assist hotel staff in handling of unusual guest or employee problems such as but not limited to disorderly conduct thefts suicides bomb threats employee or guest accidents fire or safety hazards robberies terrorist activities civil disturbance power or elevator failures medical assistance and natural disasters.
  • To remain informed of current and amended laws employees handbook job description fire and evacuation procedure lost and found procedure joiner procedure and all new policies and procedures which may be issued from time to time by the management.
  • To take an active role in the implementation of the hotels fire plan including the Fire Command Center all technical equipment and the roles each employee/fire warden plays.
  • To assist in training all new security officers in the On-Line Training program.
  • To control the keys lock system alarm system and fire protection system.
  • To make recommendations to the superiors in security related matters.
  • To respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
  • To maintain self-discipline according to the requirements of the hotels and departments standards.
  • To work an extended shift with days off and vacations cancelled in the event of an emergency.
  • To observe grooming policy as laid out in the employees handbook as well as those set out by the Director of Security.
  • To cooperate with superiors and fellow officers during the tour of duty to enhance better team-work.
  • To cooperate efficiently with all departments within the hotel directly or indirectly involved with the Security Department.
  • To be positive and punctual when attending daily briefings or meetings in order to carry out job to specification.
  • To perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.
  • Have a positive impact taking personal responsibility and initiative to resolve issues always clearly communicating with both customers and colleagues.
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions to enhance operational / environmental procedures in the hotel.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in a manner that ensures your safety and that of others in your workplace.
  • Display professional behaviour at all times.
  • Report any accidents / incidents to the Supervisor / Assistant Manager / Manager.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.

A Security Officer serving Hilton Brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role you should maintain the attitude behaviours skills and values that follow:

  • Reading writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
  • Qualified in CPR AED First Aid Firefighting and crowd control.
  • Previous experience in police force military police or security work.
  • Motivated and committed approaching all tasks with enthusiasm and seize opportunities to learn new skills or knowledge in order to improve personal performance.
  • Flexible and responds quickly and positively to changing requirements including the performance of any tasks requested of you.
  • Maintain high team focus by showing cooperation and support to colleagues in the pursuit of team goals.
  • Positive attitude.
