Performs all office duties required in processing new main extensions and service lines as well as assisting in administration of contracts for compliance and defaults including paperwork and all necessary documentation. Responsibilities: Maintains and updates department files; Submits construction permits for new mains and services; ensures permit application process is timely and accurate; Responds to customer requests; Researches and solves customer problems related to new service lines and main extensions; Reconciles service line/main extension contracts for defaults or contribution refunds; Compiles and reconciles payment for external vendors and customers.
The knowledge skills abilities and experiences required for entry into this job include the following: Minimum of one year of clerical experience; Knowledge of basic computer skills; Knowledge of basic math; Knowledge of cost benefit analysis; Knowledge of energy cost comparisons for residential customers; Knowledge of Service Line and Main Extension System; Knowledge of Company tariffs and policies relating to new contracting installations; Knowledge of basic Right-of-Way procedures (obtaining Right-of-Way permits from the BLM State Highway Forest Service etc.); Knowledge of internal bidding and bid processing techniques and procedures; Knowledge of mapping gas line location and permitting processes; Knowledge of gas appliance efficiencies installations and codes; Ability to see objects at close range; Ability to interact interpersonally with others communicates clear instructions and evaluate results; Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers orally and in writing; Requires prolonged use of a keyboard in the operation of a computer.

Grasping kneeling light moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds) reaching above shoulder repetitive motion typing sitting standing visual requirement (able to see screens detect color coding read fine print) hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
Ability to: understand remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines complete routine forms compose letters outlines memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
