You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailApplications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor (RAP)/Post-doctoral Fellow (PDF) in Epidemiology or Biostatistics School of Public Health (several posts) (Ref.: 532195) to commence as soon as possible on a two- to three-year fixed-term basis for RAP or on a one- to three-year temporary basis for PDF.
Applicants should possess a doctoral degree by research (Ph.D. . Dr.P.H. or equivalent) in epidemiology biostatistics public health or related disciplines. They should have i) a strong quantitative background; ii) experience in analysing epidemiological data using R STATA SAS or other statistical packages; iii) demonstrated expertise in the analysis of large and complex datasets; iv) excellent written and oral communication skills; and v) the ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency in longitudinal analyses multilevel modelling data visualisation and state-of-the-art statistical and epidemiological models would be an advantage.
The appointees will be primarily responsible for applied and methodological work in epidemiological and/or statistical research and will work with a large population-based cohort with over 46000 participants in 20000 will i) conduct power/sample size estimation; ii) generate tables and figures for reports and presentations; iii) write scientific publications grant proposals and reports; and iv) assist in general administrative operational and other duties as assigned. The focus of one of the posts will include The World Health Organization World Mental Health Survey Initiative and the Composite International Diagnostic Interview (CIDI) which is one of the largest cross-national mental health studies in the world.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. For RAP the appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
