Job Summary:The IT Project Manager I serves as a facilitator for projects led by the Office of Information Technology (OIT) and provides guidance to IT operational managers and project teams across campus. Focuses on best practices for project management on both departmental and enterprise-wide IT projects. Manages smaller less complex critical and non-critical IT projects requiring knowledge in project management. Oversees creates and implements project plans.
Additional Department Summary:The University of Alabama is embarking to transition its on-premises finance and HCM ERP systems to a modern cloud platform. This position will serve as a liaison to the project team providing guidance on best practices for project management across both departmental and enterprise-wide IT initiatives. This position is time-limited to the duration of the project due to additional department staffing needs while engaged in this project but could lead to regular employment at the University.
Required Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree; OR associates degree and two (2) years of IT experience; OR High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of IT experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. drivers license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge:Experience with a project management process.
Preferred Qualifications:IT project management experience.
