Title: Mammography Technologist
Department: Comprehensive Breast Center
Type: 13-week Contract (Travel/Contract No locals within 50 miles)
Schedule: Day Shift 5x8 Hours Monday Friday 08:30 17:00 (occasional Saturday coverage required)
Start Date: 09/15/2025

Job Description

Summary:
The Mammography Technologist will work within the Providence Comprehensive Breast Center delivering compassionate high-quality imaging services in a fast-paced outpatient setting. This role involves performing a wide range of diagnostic and screening procedures with a focus on patient-centered care and advanced breast imaging technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography procedures including 3D tomosynthesis.

  • Conduct specialized imaging procedures such as stereotactic biopsies needle localizations and diagnostic mammograms.

  • Operate and maintain mammography equipment (Hologic systems).

  • Collaborate with radiologists and clinical staff to ensure accurate imaging and patient safety.

  • Educate and support patients through the breast cancer screening and diagnostic process with empathy and professionalism.

  • Participate in the centers High Risk program assisting in guiding patients through their breast cancer care journey.

  • Maintain compliance with all safety infection control and HIPAA regulations.

  • Document procedures and patient information accurately in Epic.

Key Requirements
  • Must be able to work Monday Friday 08:30 17:00 with occasional Saturday coverage.

  • Flexibility to work occasional adjusted schedules for coverage needs.

  • Must submit all RTO at time of submission no exceptions.

  • Not accepting local candidates within a 50-mile radius.

  • Pending Washington State license not accepted must have active licensure at time of start.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Mammography Technologist experience required.

  • Teaching hospital experience preferred.

  • First-time travelers accepted.

License & Certifications:

  • ARRT (R) Radiography (Required)

  • ARRT (M) Mammography (Required)

  • BLS Basic Life Support (Required)

  • Washington State Radiologic Technologist License (Required)

Skills:

  • Screening & Diagnostic Mammography

  • 3-D Digital Mammography (Tomosynthesis)

  • Needle Localizations*

  • Stereotactic Biopsy*

  • Digital Imaging with Hologic equipment

  • Outpatient care experience

  • Excellent patient communication and education skills

(*Preferred but strongly encouraged)
