Data Engineer Apprentice

Having established market-leading products with a large client base since Coppers launch in 2018 our engineering team has remained at the forefront of blockchain technology. Setting standards for the cryptocurrency infrastructure globally. The Data Engineering team extends upon this to provide critical data services to the organisation. Through innovative data management and analytics we enable our teams to make informed data-driven decisions to drive growth reduce risk and improve operational efficiencies.

ROLE PURPOSE:

A Data Engineer Apprentice supports the design development and maintenance of data systems and pipelines. This apprenticeship provides hands-on experience in managing data infrastructure and ensuring data is accessible reliable and secure. You will learn to use visualisation tools such as Google Looker and PowerBI Program languages such as Python and SQL Database technologies such as Snowflake and Postgres and Cloud Technologies such as AWS.

APPRENTICESHIP:

The Data Analyst Level 4 apprenticeship programme is a 15 month plus a 3month end-point assessment. During this apprenticeship you will complete the following modules data fundamentals data preparation and visualisation databases and SQL Programming for Data Analysis Data Warehouses Data Analysis and Machine Learning and Machines Learning in a Cloud Platform.

Your experience skills and knowledge

• Data Pipeline Development: Assist in building and maintaining data pipelines for extracting transforming and loading (ETL) data.
• Database Management: Support the creation and optimisation of databases and data storage solutions.
• Data Analysis: Collaborate with data analysts to ensure data is prepared and available for analysis.
• Data Security: Help implement measures to secure data and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues in data systems and pipelines.
• Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of data processes and systems.

Skills and experience:

Essential

• Level 3 qualification (A-levels or BTEC etc.)
• 5 GCSEs including English and Mathas at Grade (C) or above
• Experience with using Excel (pivot tables and XLookup) and Microsoft Products.
• Basic knowledge of programming languages like Python SQL or Java.
• Understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a team.

Desirable

• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of networking operating systems and cloud services.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse problems and use appropriate tools for troubleshooting.
• Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills with cultural awareness.
• Organisational Skills: Ability to manage tasks and workflow effectively.
• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work well with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
