About the opportunity

The Program Coordinator Commonwealth Practical Payments (CPP) plays a pivotal role in overseeing the end-to-end administration of the Commonwealth Practical Payments scheme at the University of Tasmania. This role ensures students receive timely and accurate guidance and support throughout the CPP application and payment process troubleshoots application issues and maintains compliance with privacy and data protection regulations. The position requires strong coordination across internal departments including Finance IT and Placement teams as well as external liaison with the Department of Education in relation to complex eligibility cases. The Program Coordinator Commonwealth Practical Payments (CPP) sits within the Student Services Office and operates with a high level of autonomy and responsibility contributing directly to the Universitys mission of equitable access to education.

What youll do:

  • Oversee the CPP scheme for the University from the point at which students apply for CPP through to students payments and debt recovery.
  • Work with the leadership team to develop and implement CPP Scheme policies that comply with external regulations and internal privacy standards. Continuously review and improve related processes.
  • Provide prompt accurate responses to student enquiries and support for frontline teams. Handle complex issues directly with professionalism and empathy.
  • Ensure placement data is accurately migrated into Student Portal to enable students to apply for CPP including liaising with 3rd party providers.
  • Coordinate with internal and external vendors to ensure accurate and timely disbursement of CPP payments to students.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in delivering complex administrative and technical functions student services or financial aid administration and process improvement initiatives.
  • High level negotiation stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities within a dynamic and high-pressure environment.
  • Strong verbal communication written communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven project/program management skills including an ability to analyse review make recommendations and convey complex information ideas and concepts clearly and efficiently to a variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience in interpretation and compliance with external and internal rules and regulations.

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 7 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $130943 comprising base salary within the range of $101821 to $111917 plus 17% superannuation.
