We are looking for a talented Electrician Level II to join our team specializing in Manufacturing at our Cummins Inc. facility in Lakewood NY. This hybrid apprentice role offers hands-on experience structured training and a clear path to a certified Journeyman position.
In this role you will make an impact in the following ways:
Ensure Equipment Availability: Perform electrical maintenance and machine support tasks to keep equipment operational and minimize downtime
Promote Safety: Adhere to and promote Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards to ensure a safe working environment
Maintain High Quality Standards: Follow quality procedures and demonstrate attention to detail in all work
Support Preventive Maintenance: Provide feedback and perform preventive maintenance to extend equipment lifespan
Efficient Problem Solving: Identify and reduce manufacturing constraints solve problems and improve processes
Continuous Improvement: Participate in activities that enhance quality safety and productivity
Effective Communication: Communicate clearly with team members and support teams to ensure smooth operations

High school diploma or equivalent required
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations
Internal Candidates: Must have an accredited 2-year associate degree in Electrical Design Industrial Electrical Machine Controls/Programming Mechatronics Computer Science Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Experience
Requires some work experience or intermediate-level knowledge obtained through education training or on-the-job experience
Apprenticeship Details
Placement into the New York State Registered Apprenticeship Program
Completion of 8000 hours of on-the-job training (OJT) is required
Upon graduation you will receive an official Journeymans card
Transition into a full-time skilled trade role in Assembly or Machining
Shift placement will be based on business needs at the time of graduation (typically 2nd or 3rd shift)
