Job Description

This role is responsible for overseeing the efficient management of inventory. You will ensure accurate stock levels by monitoring movements performing regular counts coordinating with suppliers under management authorisation and maintaining detailed inventory records. The position is key to optimising stock levels minimising losses and ensuring seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regularly conducting physical stock counts to verify the accuracy of inventory levels.
  • Monitoring stock movements and identifying discrepancies.
  • Maintaining detailed stock records and updating Sage inventory systems.
  • Analysing stock usage patterns to forecast future demand and optimize ordering quantities.
  • Oversee the placement of purchase orders with suppliers based on stock levels and demand.
  • Monitoring supplier performance regarding delivery times and product quality.
  • Resolving stock-related issues with suppliers.
  • Implementing and enforcing proper stock control procedures including FIFO (First In First Out) method.
  • Managing stock transfers between different locations within the company.
  • Identifying and addressing potential stock issues like damaged goods stock returns and stock levels.
  • Conducting regular physical inventory counts to verify the accuracy of stock records and identify discrepancies.
  • Generating regular inventory reports including stock levels slow-moving items Work in Progress and stock discrepancies.
  • Analysing data to identify trends and make recommendations for improved stock management.
  • Ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures regarding inventory management.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation for audits and compliance purposes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in inventory or stock control preferably in an industrial or equipment sector
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Good communication and negotiation abilities
  • Proficiency in inventory management software
  • Knowledge of supply chain principles
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Basic computer literacy
