Requirements:
A bachelors degree in accounting finance or business administration is required. Candidates must have:
- A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in professional accounting.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management standard costing payroll budgeting internal auditing credit and collections and cash/banking operations is essential.
- Prior experience in aerospace or manufacturing environments is mandatory.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Controller leads and coordinates financial planning debt management and budgeting activities ensuring all accounting practices align with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
The role includes but is not limited to:
- Developing and recommending strategic financial objectives metrics and policies for the division
- Preparing reports that analyze and forecast income expenses and earnings based on historical and projected performance
- Ensuring compliance with local state and federal reporting and tax requirements
- Overseeing the month-end close process
- Managing and guiding the Finance Team
- Maintaining internal controls over financial transactions policies and procedures
- Leading budget preparation reviewing proposals and compiling supporting documentation
- Providing timely financial insights and performance updates to management
- Determining appropriate depreciation rates for capital assets
- Advising on operational changes in response to tax code updates
- Coordinating external audits and preparing regulatory and corporate reports
- Building and maintaining relationships with financial institutions
- Adhering to all company policies and procedures
