The Opportunity Alliance (TOA) is seeking a Mobile Peer Supervisor to join our Mobile Crisis Team (MCT). The Mobile Peer Supervisor/Peer Crisis Supervisor plays a vital leadership role within the Mobile Crisis Team providing peer-centered supervision and support to Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialists Crisis Service Providers (CIPSS-CSPs). This position is grounded in lived experience with mental health and/or substance use challenges and a personal recovery journey. The Peer Crisis Supervisor ensures fidelity to peer values supports integrated care through multidisciplinary collaboration and contributes to the development and sustainability of peer support services in crisis settings. This dynamic role blends fieldwork supervision education and program development to ensure peer values are embedded across crisis services.

This position will supervise the Peer Crisis Support Specialists

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support CIPSS-CSPs with individual and group sessions
  • Monitor documentation and performance fostering accountability and growth
  • Represent the peer lens in multidisciplinary crisis response teams
  • Drive recruitment onboarding and ongoing professional development
  • Lead strategic initiatives to enhance service quality and efficiency
  • Provide direct peer support in the field with a path to full-time supervision

Schedule: Full-time 40 hours/week position. Set schedule will be determined by the program. Some evenings and weekends may be required.

Location: Primarily based in Portland ME.

Work is done in person (in the office and or community) with potential for some remote work.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 years of experience working as a Peer Support Specialist preferred.
  • Holds a current CIPSS certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire).
  • Completion of CIPSS-CSP certification and Department-approved Crisis Peer Support training within 9 months of hire.
  • Identifies as a person with lived/living experience of mental health and/or substance use challenges that were life-interrupting.
  • Completion of IPS Managers training and other peer leadership trainings as directed.
  • Strong understanding of peer values and ability to model and uphold them in crisis settings.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication organizational and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background child protective service check & sex offender check.
  • Must not be on the state or federal suspension and disbarment list.
  • If MHRT is required for position you must pass CNA registry check
  • Normal office conditions such as sitting with occasional standing walking reaching stooping bending kneeling crouching typing and lifting up to 10 pounds.
  • Driving may be necessary to attend meetings and trainings and for the occasional need to meet with clients offsite and within the program service area. This may include transportation of clients or driving to agency location to complete work. A good driving record is required.
