The opportunity: Lead of Business Operations
As a Lead of Business Operations youll be driving efficiency across Ground News. This role blends strategic thinking operational excellence and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the business operates efficiently and scales effectively. Youll partner closely with the founders to translate vision into actionable plans optimize internal processes and lead initiatives that have a direct impact on growth and revenue.
What youll do:
Strategic Planning & Execution: Partner with the Founders and leadership team to set organizational goals track progress and ensure alignment across functions.
Operational Excellence: Identify inefficiencies and implement frameworks that improve day-to-day operations across Sponsorships Growth Product Engineering Analytics and Ops.
Business Analytics & Insights: Monitor KPIs surface insights and support data-informed decision-making.
Marketing Operations: Analyze marketing performance data and paid advertising spend across channels to evaluate strategies and ensure the right investments are driving growth.
Financial & Resource Planning: Collaborate with Finance on budget creation expense tracking and forecasting.
What youll bring:
10 years of experience in business operations strategy management consulting or similar high-impact roles.
Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives from inception to delivery.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of leveraging data insights to drive data-informed decisions.
Excellent communication skills with strong ability to influence at all levels.
Bonus points:
Experience working in a high-growth mission-driven startup environment.
A background or deep interest in media literacy civic tech or journalism.
Alignment with Ground News mission of creating a better-informed world.
