Job Description

Childcare Centre Support Worker
Permanent Part Time

Location: Ancaster Meadow; 93 Kitty Murray Lane Ancaster ON L9K 1S3
Total Weekly Hours:13.75 per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday3:15pm-6:00pm

Pay Rate (per Collective Agreement includes wage grants): $20.93 per hour

Internal Closing Date: 08/18/2025

Who Were Looking For

Experience
  • Practical experience supporting children with a variety of needs including physical behavioral and mental health challenges; this may include children on the autism spectrum and those with medical needs.
Education
  • Minimum Secondary School diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a Personal Support Worker program or similar course is an asset

Certifications
  • Standard First Aid with CPR level C
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • Proof of up-to-date immunizations (TB Tetanus MMR)

Skills & Characteristics
  • Knowledge of How Does Learning Happen is an asset
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage sensitively and professionally with children families and staff
  • Physically able to stand walk and assist with equipment and devices
  • A dedicated advocate for diversity equality and inclusion
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a dynamic team
Key Responsibilities:
  • Play a key role in supporting children families and staff where additional resources are needed.
  • Work closely with program staff to implement classroom and child management techniques
  • Assist with documentation and updates on Individual Support Plans (ISPs)
  • Collaborate in alignment with How Does Learning Happen to ensure a holistic and supportive environment for each child
