Non-Union Non-Benefited position.
Duration: Up to 6 months
DEPARTMENT: General Services

Job Summary

Were excited to invite you to join our team as a Maintenance Worker. If youre a motivated detail-oriented person who loves to quickly troubleshoot issues and keep everything running smoothly wed like to hear from you.
We offer a friendly work environment with a flexible schedule (choose 4 days shift) sick pay and extra training in safety and technical skills. This position has the potential of transitioning into a full-time position with benefits and paid leave.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

  1. Troubleshoot and maintain HVAC systems.
  2. Repair plumbing at County facilities and buildings including but not limited to leaking valves faucets restroom fixtures and lawn sprinkler piping.
  3. Assist in general labor duties including furniture moving for all departments.
  4. Work is performed inside and outside in all weather conditions and is physically demanding. Some duties may require standing for long periods.Requirements include the ability to see speak and hear; sit stand walk; bend stoop and kneel; push and pull; use hands to handle or operate objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms. The work requires the ability to lift or move sixty (60) pounds. Work is performed in an environment that involves everyday risks or discomforts requiring safety precautions.
  5. Follow written and verbal directions from supervisor to determine work requirements.
  6. Develop and maintain effective harmonious and reasonable work relationships with others.
  7. Maintain regular and predictable work attendance.

Minimum Qualifications

This individual must possess the capability to perform the duties listed above to be considered for this position. The duties are essential function requiring the critical skills and expertise needed to meet job objectives.
Possession of a valid Oregon Motor Vehicle Operators License and an acceptable driving record is required.

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Preference may be given to applicants that possess current HVAC plumbing or electrical certification(s).
