Job Description

Job Summary

This position reports to the Shipping Supervisor and is responsible for performing all tasks involved with shipping receiving storing of materials supplies and equipment.

Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping receiving storing distributing and order fulfillment of merchandise products materials parts supplies and equipment. Checks goods received and for distribution against purchase orders or invoices maintains records of goods and rejects unsatisfactory items. Packages and prepares products and merchandise for final shipment and posts weights and shipping charges. Lifts heavy items and may operate a forklift. Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped. Reviews customer orders examines stocks and distributes merchandise products and materials in inventory warehouses distribution centers or manufacturing lines. Essential Functions

• Assembles orders and prepares goods for shipment to include recording and maintaining shipping data.
• Follow shipping policy and procedures responsible for preparing UPS Federal Express and other carrier shipment documents.
• Follows receiving procedure for incoming materials.
• Verifies and identifies information and quantities against packing slip and purchase orders; counts items and indicates discrepancies.
• Enters incoming receipt of materials in database upon completion and verification of physical counts.
• Reports discrepancies to supervisor.
• Assists with maintaining accuracy of stockroom inventory.
• Kits work orders and fills shortages.
• May perform other duties as assigned by Shipping Supervisor.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in shipping & stockroom practices and procedures.
• Basic reading writing and communication in English.
• Basic knowledge of mathematics such as adding subtracting multiplying and dividing.
• Basic computer skills and use of scales - shipping packing weighing equipment.
• A High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Requirements

• This position will require the ability to lift up to but no more than 50 lbs. unassisted. Will also require frequent standing sitting walking bending reaching pushing and pulling.
