Job Summary

Position Title - Material Coordinator 1

Duration - 2 years

Schedule - Monday-Thursday 6:30am-5pm

Location - Calera AL 35040

Note: PPE Required: Hard hat safety toe footwear and safety glasses

Responsibilities:

This Material Coordinator will be responsible for ordering materials based on design prints coordinating deliveries to the field to meet construction schedules and maintaining accurate detailed records.
The work this position supports is primarily power delivery Distribution and make-ready work for overhead fiber.
This position will report to an office environment at the General Services Complex in Calera AL full-time and will occasionally be asked to visit material yards in various parts of the state to review material levels.
This position will review engineering prints and documents to determine material needs requisition the appropriate material ensure timely delivery to the site and maintain accurate records.
Inventory material orders and project data will be tracked in spreadsheets in Maximo and on other computer systems.
Frequent communication with suppliers and the field by email and phone will be required.
This position will also redline field changes as needed and reflect changes in all appropriate records.

Requirements:

A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook for documentation and communication is required.
Sufficient computer skills to become proficient in Maximo and internal applications (TEAMS JETS etc.)

Preferred:

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Able to effectively communicate by email and phone across departments
Comfortable working in a dynamic environment to adjust to changing project schedules and requirements
Prior experience in utility field work (electrical overhead distribution) or storeroom logistics is a plus.
