UHS is a coeducational independent day school in San Francisco located in the vibrant Pacific Heights neighborhood. We serve 514 students in grades 9-12. Founded in 1975 our mission is to challenge each individual to live a life of integrity inquiry and purpose larger than the self.

The Opportunity

Were looking for motivated and knowledgeable Assistant Coaches to support our second-year Girls Flag Football program which now proudly competes in the Marin County Athletic League (MCAL). These seasonal part-time roles span from summer assessments through the fall season (AugustNovember).

As an Assistant Coach youll play an essential role in player development cultivating a positive team culture and ensuring smooth daily program operations under the guidance of our Program Director and Varsity Head Coach. Were seeking candidates with a strong understanding of the game a commitment to educational athletics and a passion for supporting student-athletes in their growth both on and off the field.

What Youll Do

• Practice Leadership: Help plan and execute engaging practices that align with program goals and team culture.
• Skill Development: Teach and reinforce fundamental flag football skills strategies and rules.
• Culture Building: Support the development of a positive inclusive and competitive team environment.
• Student Supervision: Supervise and maintain appropriate student behavior during all practices games and team functions.
• Game Day Support: Provide vital leadership and sideline support during games and tournaments.
• Program Alignment: Work closely with the Varsity Head Coach to ensure consistency and alignment across Varsity and JV levels.
• Effective Communication: Proactively communicate with student-athletes families and staff.
• Safety & Organization: Help maintain a safe and organized practice and game-day environment.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to UHS MCAL NCS and CIF rules and regulations.
• Administrative Support: Assist in tracking attendance performance and equipment needs.
• Team Commitment: Attend all scheduled practices games meetings and events as required.

Who You Are

• Experienced Coach: You bring a minimum of 2 years of coaching experience preferably in football flag football or another team sport.
• Game Expert: You possess strong knowledge of flag football fundamentals rules and game strategies. Playing experience in flag or tackle football is a plus.
• Effective Communicator: You have strong communication and leadership skills.
• Certified (or Ready To Be): You hold or are willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification as well as any required CIF/NCS coaching certifications.

Compensation

This is a seasonal part-time position with a pay range of $5000 $8000 commensurate with experience and team assignment. This compensation includes responsibilities during the summer assessment period and the fall competitive season.
