The Network Engineer is responsible for designing implementing maintaining and troubleshooting enterprise network infrastructures. This role involves working with routers switches firewalls wireless technologies and cloud networking to ensure high availability security and scalability of the network environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Infrastructure Design & Implementation:
- Design deploy and manage LAN/WAN architectures.
- Configure and maintain network devices including routers switches firewalls and wireless controllers.
- Implement and optimize SDWAN solutions for hybrid networks.
- Deploy and manage MPLS networks for enterprise connectivity.
- Configure and troubleshoot routing technologies such as BGP OSPF and EIGRP to ensure dynamic and efficient traffic routing.
- Implement Layer 2 switching technologies including VLANs Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) Link Aggregation (LACP) and Virtual Trunking Protocol (VTP).
- Manage and optimize Wireless LAN (WLAN) architectures including WiFi 6 deployments and enterprisegrade wireless controllers.
- Deploy configure and maintain IP telephony and VoIP solutions such as Cisco CUCM Microsoft Teams Voice and SIP Trunking.
- Configure and maintain firewall solutions including Cisco ASA Palo Alto Fortinet Check Point and NextGen Firewalls (NGFWs).
- Network Security & Compliance:
- Implement security policies access controls and network segmentation.
- Configure and manage firewalls VPNs and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 27001 NIST and GDPR.
- Cloud & Hybrid Network Integration:
- Configure and optimize network connectivity for cloud environments (AWS Azure GCP).
- Implement hybrid cloud networking solutions including Direct Connect ExpressRoute and Cloud VPN.
- Ensure secure and efficient connectivity between onpremises and cloud infrastructure.
- Monitoring & Performance Optimization:
- Deploy and manage network monitoring tools such as PRTG SolarWinds or Nagios.
- Conduct network performance analysis and troubleshooting.
- Optimize bandwidth utilization and implement QoS policies.
- Network Automation & Scripting:
- Utilize Ansible Python or Terraform for network automation.
- Implement network configuration management and automation frameworks.
- Enhance operational efficiency through scripting and automation.
- Stakeholder Collaboration & Support:
- Work with IT teams to support VoIP video conferencing and unified communications.
- Assist in troubleshooting network issues and provide Level 2/3 support.
- Document network designs configurations and troubleshooting procedures.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 57 years in network engineering and infrastructure management.
- Certifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Preferred.
- Juniper Networks Certified Professional (JNCIP) Plus.
- Huawei Certified ICT Expert (HCIE) Preferred.
- AWS or Azure Networking Certifications are a plus.
- Technical Skills & Experience:
- Extensive handson experience in network technologies including MPLS SDWAN and WAN optimization.
- Strong expertise in routing technologies such as BGP OSPF and EIGRP for dynamic network routing.
- Proficiency in Layer 2 switching technologies including VLANs Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) Link Aggregation (LACP) and VTP.
- Experience with Wireless LAN (WLAN) architectures WiFi 6 deployments and enterprise wireless networks.
- Expertise in firewalls and security solutions including Cisco ASA Palo Alto Fortinet Check Point and NextGen Firewalls (NGFWs).
- Handson knowledge of IP Telephony VoIP and Unified Communications (Cisco CUCM Microsoft Teams Voice SIP Trunking).
- Experience with load balancers proxies and SDWAN solutions for optimized network performance.
- Strong understanding of network segmentation ACLs and network access control (NAC) solutions.
